Immediately after arriving in Sinapore, early 1992, I understood that along with the difficult task of setting up (once again) a new studio and establishing my art practice in a milieu where ceramic is still identified with pottery, I had to use the primordial material – the clay and the endless ways to “process” it, in the context of a new reality- as the only way to approach it as a justified major medium for monumental, integrated art in architecture and public urban areas.

All my murals (1995-2015) were site specific and conceived as large, evocative vistas or reinterpretation of traditional culture and rich heritage in South East Asia, along with a desire to capture the vibrant tropical nature (colors and shapes) in a continue dialogue with challenging realities of a modern metropolis.
